Huckleberry Finn was published in 1884, and tells the story of a young boy, Huckleberry Finn, the friend of Tom Sawyer, and the slave, Jim. Together they run away from Huck's drunken father and Jim's owners, and begin a journey on and around the great Mississippi River. This retelling has been shortened and illustrated for younger readers.
